Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy teases Georgia return after recast

Emmerdale stalwart Charlotte Bellamy loves the fact "anything could happen" with Georgia Sharma's return to the village.
Just last month it was announced that EastEnders star Lin Blakley had taken on the role, replacing Trudie Goodwin who'd played Jai Sharma's mum for four years up until 2015.
The character has been regularly referenced on the soap of late – in light of son Jai discovering that he was adopted by Rishi Sharma – before making her way to the Yorkshire Dales to a cold welcome in next week's scenes.

Asked by Inside Soap what her character Laurel Thomas makes of the newcomer, Bellamy commented: "Well, they've only just met, but actually they get along very well.
"Georgia does have an edge, yet Laurel can handle things like that. But she's a very colourful character, so if they brought her back anything could happen!
"She is played by a fantastic actress called Lin Blakley, she's absolutely brilliant and a great addition to the cast."

Blakley herself, whose other TV credits include Ackley Bridge and Silent Witness, originally said of joining Emmerdale: "How lucky am I to play such a strong character as Georgia?
"So different from roles I've played of late. I have enjoyed every single minute. Gorgeous cast and crew!! And the gorgeous Dales. Thank you Emmerdale."
The show's producer Kate Brooks teased: "We're thrilled to have an actor of Lin's calibre step into the role of the formidable Georgia. A force to be reckoned with, she'll have a secret for the Sharmas that could potentially blow their world apart."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
