Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins calls for new Victoria story

Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins has called for a new Victoria Sugden storyline involving members of her long lost family.

As one of only two members of the Sugden family left in the village, the actress said she would love for the soap to introduce a secret family member or two.

"I would love that because we are thin on the ground, and the Sugdens were the original family," Hodgins told Inside Soap. "There are a lot of Dingles and you see all the family time they get on-screen, so it would be nice for me to have that and have my own little clan. If any came out of the woodwork, I'd be happy.

When asked if there were any existing characters she would love Victoria to have a storyline with, Hodgins said she would like to work with Caleb Miligan actor Will Ash.

"I would like to work with Will Ash. We haven't crossed paths at all - he's a fellow Mancunian. I don't even know what the story would be, but something a bit different for Victoria."

On past storylines, Hodgins, who has starred in Emmerdale for 17 years, said she misses working with Marlon Dingle star Mark Charnock in the Woolpack.

"I miss working with Mark. When you work regularly with someone, the partnership has its own heartbeat and rhythm. It was ridiculous with him being a giant and me being so tiny, but it worked on so many levels. They were always good days in the Woolpack kitchen, and I even miss the little blue hat."

Speaking of her dream storyline, Hodgins said she'd like to do a 'what if?' episode: "Like, what if Adam and Victoria had been able to have a baby? Things like that. Exploring things we weren't able to before."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
