Emmerdale star Samantha Giles explains Bernice Blackstock's new mistake

Emmerdale favourite Samantha Giles has opened up about the financial mess Bernice Blackstock currently finds herself in.
In recent scenes airing on ITV, it was revealed that Nicola and Jimmy King's fraudulent £20,000 debt was all down to the former's sister, setting in motion Bernice's departure from the village.
On her character's shameful storyline, Giles had this to say: "Bernice has got carried away with wanting the B&B to be absolutely perfect and is not facing up to the reality of paying back the bills she has accrued!

"She is trapped in a fantasy of thinking that the B&B will suddenly take off and become hugely successful making millionaires out of her and Bob [Hope]."
But how did this madness begin in the first place?
"It started soon after they managed to buy the property. She is obsessed with making it look nice, and as the opening was such a success she has kind of got addicted to the buzz of 'success' and being creative with how it looks," explained the soap star.
"She's been buying high-end scented candles and ornaments and things to put in goody bags for guests. Expensive linen, posh towel, expensive reed diffusers for the rooms. All the best of the best."

With Nicola simply stumbling across Bernice's misdeeds, would she have ever come forward about them all or just quietly remained in the shadows?
"I don't think Bernice has thought that far ahead, I think she thought she'd be able to pay it off quite quickly and that Nicola would be none the wiser, but of course, it hasn't happened like that," commented Giles.
The star also admitted that Nicola wouldn't be able to forgive Bernice, adding: "Nicola does tend to hold a grudge, plus this is a massive thing Bernice has done, so I don’t think it will be easily forgiven."
