Emmerdale star shares new role after Rishi Sharma's death
Emmerdale's Bhasker Patel has revealed what fans can expect to see him in next following his recent shock exit from the soap.
Patel's character Rishi Sharma was tragically killed off last month, when he died suddenly at home while preparing to head to his son Jai's wedding to Laurel Thomas.
While fans won't be seeing him on Emmerdale again following his sad final scenes, Patel has revealed that they can instead catch him in a project called Leviathan, after sharing a photo of himself on set with four fellow cast and crew members.

Posting the snap, in which he sports a long, grey beard, on Instagram, the actor wrote: "That’s a WRAP on #leviathancycle ... finally said bye to Nemo #character & reunited with Ding Ling".
One fan jokingly commented, "I couldn't spot you at first", while another wrote, "Who's the old guy .....oh! It's you".
Leviathan, "an ambitious ten-part film cycle" which has been made over several years, is being created alongside a range of specialists, including marine biologists and oceanographers.
The project's website explains that "Leviathan envisages a future very much like our present to consider possible links between borders, mental health and marine welfare. Each episode is taken from the point of view of a different character and their journey."
Since Rishi's sudden death – a plot twist which wasn't revealed ahead of transmission – it has been confirmed that he passed away following an accidental fall down the stairs, and not as a result of his heart condition.
Scenes airing on the soap this week will see Jai and Laurel clash as Jai's stress over his father's funeral arrangements rises, with Jai departing for India alone after a row with his new wife.

Following Rishi's death, actor Patel opened up about his departure from the soap, admitting that it wasn't his decision to leave the role after 12 years in the Dales.
"The producer rang me and said, 'We now need to talk to you and we're killing him off because we want a big story and it's going to be a big surprise'," he said, adding: "So when the producer said, 'We're going to kill you off', I was like, 'Okay, that part of my life with this guy is over and I'm going to move on'."
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
