Emmerdale star Zoe Henry doesn't know ending of Rhona baby story

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Rhona Goskirk actress Zoe Henry has revealed she doesn't know the ending to her huge Emmerdale storyline involving baby Ivy.

Viewers of the ITV soap will know Rhona's world was rocked when ex-husband Gus Malcolms rocked up in the Dales asking for permission to use embryos the former couple had frozen during their marriage to begin a family with his new wife, Lucy.

Unfortunately, Lucy died following the birth of their daughter Ivy, with Gus leaving the newborn with Rhona and husband Marlon Dingle as he struggled to process the loss of his wife.

Rhona has bonded with Ivy, who she recognises is part of her biologically but someone whom she has no legal claim, which made it incredibly painful when Gus revealed his intentions to move to France with Ivy.

Grief-stricken over the idea of never seeing the youngster again, Rhona disappears with baby in arms leaving Marlon and her mother Mary Goskirk desperately searching for her.

The storyline has had many fans on tenterhooks wondering how the kidnapping will turn out, and even actor Henry revealed she doesn't know how it will end.

Speaking on This Morning about Rhona's drastic actions, she said: "I do get this, I'm not saying I would do it, but in tomorrow's episode she ends up running off with the baby, but I kind of get it. It's that kind of primal panic of 'this is my child and you're going to take her to France and I'm never going to see her again', so something kicks in."

When host Alison Hammond suggested the story may not end well, Henry responded: "I can't possibly say, I actually don't know. We know a little in advance, but not too much."

It comes after the actor spoke to Digital Spy about how Rhona's relationship with Ivy will affect her and Marlon, and whether he will stand by her side through the ordeal.

She said: "If you'd asked me that a month ago I'd have said: 'Absolutely not, he'd be walking out the door'. But having read the scripts that we're currently shooting, I think Marlon would have Rhona's back.

"Obviously Marlon softens towards Ivy because she's a baby and he's very good with her, but I think he knows how much Rhona supported him through his stroke. He can't not think about that.

"I think Marlon knows that if he wants his marriage to survive, he's probably got to support Rhona. He really is in love with that little baby as well by this point. He's absolutely fallen head over heels in love with Ivy, which is a really lovely twist."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
