Emmerdale teases Christmas Day fury for Marlon

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Marlon Dingle will be lacking in festive cheer when Christmas comes around.

Later this month on the ITV soap, a picture-perfect Christmas morning threatens to be derailed when the chef reaches breaking point with new houseguest and Rhona Goskirk's ex-husband Gus Malcolms, storming off in the process.

Effectively saving the day, Paddy Kirk reminds his friend that Gus is grieving his late wife Lucy.

Later on, Gus is taken aback by Marlon's exquisite Christmas dinner efforts, and while raising a toast to loved ones, it seems as though the festivities are back on track.

But for how long, we can't say.

The soap's producer Laura Shaw previously teased how Gus and his daughter Ivy would "hugely impact" Rhona and Marlon's Christmas.

"In the New Year, we'll see Rhona pushed to breaking point – she's forced to make a risky decision that threatens to affect her whole family and possibly change the dynamics of their family," she said while speaking to Digital Spy and other media.

"As she's pushed to the extreme can she be talked round, or is she going to lose everything in the quest to help baby Ivy?”

Last month, Rhona's emotional turmoil began when it was revealed that Gus had used one of their frozen embryos to secretly have a child with Lucy.

Since then, she's visited Ivy in the hospital, alone, in the hope of getting some quality time together.

Under pressure from her mother Mary, Rhona was forced to eventually confess her covert behaviour to Marlon after his suspicions were raised.

These scenes air on Monday, December 25 at 6.30pm. Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
