Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle is rejected by Ethan Anderson in new scenes

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle is set to be rejected by Ethan Anderson in new scenes.

Aaron has been isolating most people in his life since his recent return to the village, and last month sunk even lower in his behaviour towards Ethan.

Following their recent hook-up, Aaron pretended he wanted to go for a drink with Ethan, who was smitten with Aaron.

However, with Charles and Chas looking on, Aaron proceeded to embarrass Ethan, telling him: "Why would I want to waste another minute on a boring, needy bloke who's desperate for love, like you? You're pathetic."

Chas and Charles stepped in, Chas slamming Aaron's "senseless cruelty", and later hit out at her son again, saying the family was done with him. She has since forgiven him.

In new scenes set to air next week, Ethan notices that Aaron appears to be struggling and tries to help him, putting aside his recent dispute with him.

Aaron then tries to kiss him, leading Ethan to furiously storm off. This leaves Aaron broken and alone.

Will he be able to get his life back on track again?

Meanwhile, in other Emmerdale news, the soap recently confirmed a breast cancer storyline for Chas, which comes after her mother Faith's own tragic cancer story.

"When the producers first discussed this storyline with me I knew I didn't want us to shy away from any aspect of this diagnosis for Chas," actress Lucy Pargeter said.

"She saw her own mother ultimately die after an incurable breast cancer diagnosis, so for Chas to receive a breast cancer diagnosis herself, makes it all the more poignant. Our audience knows her so well, they have seen her relationships, know her faults, her passions, her insecurities, quirks and fears."

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
