Emmerdale's Aaron plots surprise exit after Chas' cancer news

Emmerdale's Aaron Dingle vows to leave the village next week after learning that his mum Chas has been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Aaron leaves his family shocked as he fails to support Chas following her news, prompting Mackenzie Boyd to step in with some home truths over his behaviour.
Next week's episodes open with Aaron in disgrace with his family following a violent incident with his uncle Cain.
Show bosses have been teasing a huge fight between the two family members, which airs in this Thursday's hour-long episode (January 25).

While exact details of what will take place remain under wraps, Cain is ultimately hospitalised.
Cain's wife Moira stays by his bedside and is relieved when he wakes up.
Aaron asks Chas about Cain's condition, but her contempt for him is clear as she dismisses him.
Even Mack struggles to muster up any support for Aaron this time, telling him that he deserves everything that's coming his way.

A doctor examines Cain and advises him to stay in his hospital bed for a while, but he refuses and discharges himself.
The Dingles rally round to support Cain but they snub Aaron, who feels like an outsider after his bad behaviour.
Later at the pub, the family bitterly argue but find themselves interrupted by Chas, who has decided to share the news of her cancer diagnosis.
Chas' loved ones are shocked but supportive – apart from Aaron, who deliberately keeps his distance.

Chas is heartbroken as Aaron stubbornly walks away rather than show her any comfort.
The Woolpack barmaid feels even worse when she later realises that Aaron plans to turn his back on her by leaving the village.
Mack steps in as Aaron prepares to go, urging him to see sense. Aaron refuses to talk to his friend, but can Mack get through to him before it's too late?
Emmerdale will air these scenes on Monday, January 29 and Tuesday, January 30.
