Emmerdale's Bob Hope makes another decision over Wendy Posner

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Bob Hope has made another big decision regarding his future with Wendy Posner.

Bob recently learned that Wendy had been cheating on him with Dr Liam Cavanagh, and their relationship has hit the rocks. Bob's cold behaviour towards his other half caused her to walk out on him — although he later unleashed his fury at Liam in the village and suffered a heart attack while doing so. In the hospital, Bob called things off with Wendy.

In tonight's (August 16) episode, an upset Wendy told Eric Pollard and Victoria that she would call Luke to move to London and would move her stuff out before Bob returned from the hospital.

Pollard tried to convince her that Bob needs her following his cardiac arrest, but she told him that she wasn't wanted.

Pollard then visited Bob in the hospital and told him he "should retract" his decision to dump Wendy, explaining that she's very upset and unlikely to cheat again.

Bob hit back and said he was struggling with erectile dysfunction. Pollard told him he needed to accept getting older and "stop acting like a sex-crazed schoolboy", then pointed out that there are ways of reversing the ED. Bob admitted a doctor had told him it was related to his other blood flow-related issues and could be sorted.

In that case, Pollard told him, Bob had to go and pledge his commitment to Wendy before she left for London — something Bob wasn't aware was happening.

Wendy herself turned up at the hospital after receiving a message from Bob.

"I made a mistake yesterday when I told you it was over," he told her. "That's not what I want. I just feel so many things, Wendy. I think the shame of it — I think it's been blown up because of my own issues. I was putting all my anger on you."

He continued: "Because I couldn't give you that, I felt useless. Like I wasn't a proper man, even. I don't want us to break up. I just want us to get back to how we were."

Wendy said she wants that too, and that her infidelity wasn't about the sex. She also assured Bob she can wait for him to get back to normal.

Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
