Emmerdale's Dan Spencer lashes out at Amelia after arrest

Dan Spencer has lashed out at daughter Amelia following his arrest in Emmerdale.
Dan is currently in legal jeopardy for attacking Amelia's social media stalker Lloyd last week. As Lloyd's life hangs in the balance, Dan has been charged with GBH (grievous bodily harm).
In Tuesday's (July 11) episode, Amelia found out that Dan had been charged by accident, after she knocked a legal notice to the floor while grabbing her coat.
"You've been charged?" she asked Dan with bewilderment.
Dan then had to admit to Amelia that he'd gone to the hospital last week and ended up in a shouting match with Lloyd's wife.

He relayed that the police are convinced the attack on Lloyd was unprovoked because they couldn't find anything he'd done that violated any laws.
"You could get years for GBH, you even said it yourself," Amelia realised.
Amelia pointed out Dan could argue he'd acted in self-defence, though she was understandably worried about how her life would change if her dad was sent down. Dan left the house, insisting he needed to run errands for work, but he actually picked up alcohol to drink alone in the forest.
"What am I going to do?" he asked himself.
David Metcalfe eventually found Dan drinking alone after selling him the alcohol. Dan broke down to David, confessing that his best-case scenario is GBH if Lloyd even survives.
"I just wanted to look after Amelia," a desperate Dan explained.
Dan expressed regret over his "one moment of madness", especially since he understood Lloyd would never "see sense" if he survives.
David brought a drunk Dan home, where an irate Amelia was waiting for her father. Amelia had a go at Dan for pushing her away and claiming everything would be fine even though it likely wouldn't be.
Even after Dan insisted he didn't want to talk about his feelings, Amelia pressed on by confronting him. She suggested asking Cain and Caleb for help with a lawyer, but he dismissed the idea as "pointless".

When Amelia questioned what his potential imprisonment would do to baby Esther, Dan finally snapped by blaming his daughter for starting everything with her influencer posts.
"I warned you but you just carried on," he yelled.
Dan then spitefully insisted: "I hit a man, yeah, but who brought him round in the first place, yeah? You!"
His angry words don't reflect the truth, as Amelia is not to blame for Lloyd's lies and obsession with her. However, Amelia was still left feeling guilty at the end of the episode.
