Emmerdale's Jacob to spark suspicion over secret passion with Victoria

Emmerdale airs the first signs of trouble for Jacob Gallagher and Victoria Barton next week, with hints that their passion may not stay under wraps for long.

Jacob and Victoria are about to start a secret relationship after weeks of hints that they could become an unlikely couple.

The pair spend the night together early next week after a misunderstanding leaves Victoria jealous that Jacob may have another love interest.

Once Jacob sets the record straight, the two characters give into temptation and sleep together for the first time.

New spoilers and pictures have revealed that Jacob's mum Leyla Cavanagh is one to watch as the story progresses.

As Jacob's relationship with Victoria quickly becomes more serious, he struggles to keep the smile off his face as they exchange messages.

Leyla watches on and becomes suspicious over Jacob's secret girlfriend – and there's a sense that this new relationship isn't destined to end well.

Jacob's new romance comes as his dad David continues to harbour hopes of a reunion with Victoria.

David split from Victoria late last year, but has never truly moved on from their short-lived relationship.

Actor Matthew Wolfenden recently filmed his final scenes as David and he has confirmed that the Victoria and Jacob drama will ultimately lead to his exit from the show.

Speaking on ITV's This Morning recently, Matthew commented: "I'm so nervous about leaving, almost two decades.

"It feels like the right time. The door's left open, they're not killing me off, I've been promised. I'm allowed to tell you that. So who knows, I might be back, we will see."

He added: "There is a resolution of sorts, I can't give too much away. Victoria is the reason why he leaves the village. Put it that way."
