Emmerdale's Lisa Riley reveals surprise Bake Off star set visit

Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley has revealed that a star from The Great British Bake Off has visited the set of the soap.
Riley, who plays Mandy Dingle on the ITV soap, posted on Instagram to reveal that Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood visited the set with wife Melissa Spalding, who he married last month.
“GREAT TO SEE YOU BOTH… @paul.hollywood ‘CHEF DINGLE’ was welcomed with open arms to our house @emmerdale @britishbakeoff,” wrote Riley in the caption, with the group photo also including Riley's co-stars Sam Hall, James Hooton and Karen Blick.

Hollywood responded to the post, writing: “Thanks x”, whilst several fans asked if the judge had brought cakes onto the set.
Riley’s character will soon get a surprise as her cousin Aaron returns to the village, and producer Laura Shaw hinted that it could be a “dark” time for the Dingle family.
“This time he's back as a regular, not just back for a guest stint,” she began. “We've been working really hard to keep it a secret from our audience. We've been calling him by a different name, had him driving to work a different way [and] parking in a secret place.

“We've been hiding him all over the place and hoping no one finds him! What you'll see when Aaron comes back is that slightly darker, different Aaron. Last time we saw him in the show, he came back briefly in October 2022 when sadly his sister Liv died.
“What we'll see is just how much that has affected Aaron and how much it's making him push people away. Having been hurt by the loss of Liv, he doesn't ever want to go through that hurt again, so he's lashing out at the world.”
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
