Emmerdale's Suni Sharma falls out with Nicky Miligan

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Suni Sharma has fallen out with Nicky Miligan in Emmerdale.

The couple reconciled last week mere moments before Suni was viciously attacked by Gabby Thomas's friend Mike in a homophobic hate crime. The police wrongly suspected Ethan Anderson and arrested him, leading to him being suspended by his firm.

In Monday's (December 4) episode, the detective investigating the hate crime arrived at Suni's hospital bedside to take an official statement.

While Nicky and Amit felt it was too soon for Suni to relive the attack, he insisted: "I want to do this. I want to tell her what happened."

Suni admitted to the detective that he'd called Mike "a pig" before he was beaten, then detailed the pain of being kicked "over and over again" by the homophobic bully.

"If it wasn't for Ethan… he put himself in danger so instead of picking on him, what are you going to do about the thugs who put me in here?" he demanded.

Once the detective left, Suni had an outburst as Nicky encouraged him to "stay positive". Suni snapped that it was easy for Nicky to say that since he wasn't in a hospital bed.

"I got battered and you got held back," Suni shouted at Nicky.

After Nicky walked out of the room, Suni broke down crying with his father Amit. Back in the village, Ethan was stunned to find out he would be fired by his law firm due to his involvement in the case.

Nicky ran into Jai in the village and warned him Suni might not be in the best of spirits when he visited. He also reassured Gabby that she wasn't to blame for what happened to Suni.

Nicky arrived home to interrupt Caleb and Tracy snogging, though they managed to cover their tracks by insisting he'd been professionally mentoring her. They comforted Nicky and acknowledged he'd likely experience a range of emotions in the coming days.

At the hospital, Ethan visited Suni's bedside but lied to him that he'd simply been given time off at work to cope with the trauma.

Will the truth come out?
