Emmerdale's Wendy lies to Bob ahead of affair storyline

Emmerdale airs the build-up to Wendy Posner and Liam Cavanagh's affair tonight (May 19).
Fans will spot the first signs of scandal to come in the village, as Wendy brazenly lies to her partner Bob Hope.
Wendy has been keeping a close eye on Liam all week after spotting him behaving suspiciously.

Last night, the truth was revealed as Wendy discovered that Liam is a published murder mystery author, writing under the pen name of Anna Le Monde.
Wendy, who also has a passion for detective fiction, has since been helping Liam to spice up his short stories.
In Friday's episode, Wendy is delighted to hear about Liam's plans to attend a murder mystery convention.
Wendy wastes little time before deciding that she'd like to go too, so she openly lies to Bob about how she plans to spend next Monday evening.

Although Liam seems pleased, he's surprised that Wendy is so willing to deceive her partner.
Earlier this week, Emmerdale confirmed that Wendy and Liam will start an affair in upcoming episodes.
Susan Cookson, who plays Wendy, recently explained: "They have fun together. It's exciting when you find someone who you can genuinely get on with and have a good old laugh with. That's sexy, when you've got someone who can make you laugh.
"They've both lost a child so they have that empathy between them as well."

Asked about Wendy cheating on Bob, Susan replied: "Wendy feels terrible about that, because she does love Bob. You can't not love Bob! She's devastated by that and basically tells Liam that this has to stop.
"Wendy tells Liam that it was a moment of madness, it was great fun but she's in a deep and meaningful relationship with Bob. But Liam doesn't want it to stop."
