England’s Soccer Team Has the Most Expensive Watch Collection in the Euro Finals

England, Spain, and the Netherlands are still battling it out in the UEFA European Championship, but the Brits already have the two other national teams beat in the watch game.

Pre-owned watch specialist Watchfinder & Co. has tallied up the timepieces of the three remaining squads in the Euros and the Three Lions have come out on top. England’s combined team watch collection is valued at approximately $5.3 million (£4.1 million), with 45 pieces of luxury wrist candy in the possession of star players.

The squad clearly has a penchant for the Crown, with some 24 Rolex models in the collection. Phil Foden, Ivan Toney, Cole Palmer, Kobbie Mainoo, and Jude Bellingham are just some of the players with Rollies on their wrists. Rolex isn’t the only Swiss watchmaker getting love, though. Patek Philippe is favored by Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka, with the captain rocking a newly released Aquanaut Travel Time among other models and the star forward sporting an Aquanaut chronograph. Other highlights include Trent Alexander-Arnold’s six-figure Richard Mille RM 67-01 and Declan Rice’s black-ceramic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph.

The Netherlands, set to play England tonight for a spot in the Final, has landed second with a combined team watch collection worth around $1.8 million (£1.4 million). Again, the majority of timepieces are Rolexes, with 16 out of 32 watches made by the Crown. As with England, the team captain is a fan of Patek: Virgil van Dijk owns four different models collectively worth $395,000 (£309,000). Other standouts include Memphis Depay’s six-figure Richard Mille RM 030 “Polo Club Saint-Tropez” and Nathan Aké’s sporty Rolex Yacht-Master II.

Spain, who beat France in Tuesday’s semi-final, scored third place with a combined team watch collection valued at roughly $1.6 million (£1.3 million). Most of the 26 pieces are by Rolex and Audemars Piguet. Some players such as David Raya and Nico Williams favor the classics, wearing a Cartier De Santos and Rolex Oyster Perpetual, respectively. Others like Sergio Ramos love the bling, donning Rolex’s highly collectible, gem-encrusted Rainbow Daytona.

An honorable mention goes to Portugal. The recently relegated team has an impressive watch collection worth over $15.7 million (£12.2 million), with captain Cristiano Ronaldo’s own haul totaling more than $6.4 million (£5 million). Similarly, France has a notable watch collection estimated at $5.1 million (£4 million) thanks to horophiles Ousmane Dembélé and Kylian Mbappé.

“Footballers have long been recognized for their impressive watch collections and we thought this year’s Euros was the perfect opportunity to establish which national team really does have the most valuable collection,” Watchfinder & Co.’s in-house expert Ben Staniforth said in a statement. “It’s always a pleasure to see England top the table, their penchant for Rolex certainly helped them grab the top spot, but with more Richard Mille and Patek Phillippe timepieces than any other team in the semifinals they were always going to be the team to beat.”

Let’s see if the Three Lions can score the top spot at the Euros, too.
