Euro 2024 draw LIVE! England meet Denmark while Scotland handed tough test against Germany

Hosts Germany will face Scotland in the opening match of Euro 2024 in Munich following the draw on Saturday, while defending Champions Italy have been drawn in the same group as Spain.

The Germans, three-times winners, will kick off the one-month tournament in Munich on June 14, with the final on July 14 in Berlin's Olympic stadium.

The draw was held at the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in Hamburg, one of the 10 host cities of the tournament.

Germany will also face Hungary and Switzerland in Group A.

Italy face a tough task in defending their title, drawn in Group B where they will face Spain, Croatia and Albania.

France and the Netherlands will face each other again after coming through the qualifying campaign in the same group, drawn in Group D alongside Austria and the winner of playoff A.

England, beaten finalists in Euro 2020, are in Group C alongside Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia.

Group E sees Belgium take on Romania, Slovakia and the winners of playoff B, while Group F features Portugal, Turkey, Czech Republic and the playoff C winners.

The hosts qualified automatically and 20 teams advanced through the European qualifiers. Three teams are still unknown and will come through the playoffs in March.

The top two in each of the six Euro 2024 groups proceed to the round of 16 along with the four best third-placed finishers.

England look to have a relatively forgiving path to the Euro 2024 knockout stages.

Gareth Southgate has vowed not to “underestimate” his opponents in the group stage but admitted the Three Lions avoided some of the more dangerous names in the lower pots.

The Three Lions manager watched on in Hamburg as his side were drawn in Group C against Slovenia, Serbia and Denmark for next summer’s European Championships in Germany.

Gareth Southgate’s side rounded off their Euro 2024 qualification campaign with an uninspiring 1-1 draw here in Skopje on Monday night, having also laboured to a drab 2-0 win over Malta at Wembley on Friday. But the result ensured England will be among the top seeds when the draw for the Euros takes place on December 2.

They will be among the favourites in Germany next summer, and Watkins insists rival nations will be “scared” of them.

“I think we are in really good shape,” said Aston Villa striker Watkins, who was handed a rare start in place of Harry Kane against Macedonia but endured a frustrating night."

England are in a race to secure one of Germany's best training camps for Euro 2024 next summer, with manager Gareth Southgate insistent on a private training base to avoid a repeat of the Baden-Baden fiasco at the 2006 World Cup.

The late-night partying and lack of regard for locals from England fans as well as many of the players’ wives, girlfriends and families turned England’s stay in the Black Forest spa town during Germany ’06 into somewhat of a farce.

England and the FA have opted for more serene, countryside training camps away from supporters and families since then. While Fabio Capello banned players’ families from seeing his squad at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, Southgate has permitted it in a controlled way during his tenure, and will do so again.
