Exclusive: AEW's Thunder Rosa wants ROH Pure Rules match and Paige VanZant
Since becoming AEW women's champion in March, Thunder Rosa has been doing things her way.
She's already expressed her desire to be a travelling champion, after facing Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling's Miyu Yamashita in Japan.
Now Rosa, who won the Women's Championship from Britt Baker in a Steel Cage match, wants to try her hand at a Ring of Honor Pure Rules match.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Rosa said she watched ROH's recent Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view and loved Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta's match with Daniel Garcia.
"The Pure Rules match... I was watching it like, 'I'm going to get back on training again, I want to have a match like that,'" Rosa said.
"I swear to God, I want to have a match like that with someone. That's how I was trained... that's how they used to beat the crap out of me when I was training, so I was like, 'Oh this is great, I would love to do this!'"
Rosa also has an MMA background and would love to incorporate that more into an AEW match and perhaps the perfect opponent would be former UFC fighter and recent AEW signee Paige VanZant.
When asked if she'd like to have a match with Paige like Jake Hager and Wardlow's MMA Cage Fight from Dynamite last June, Rosa said: "Of course!
"Now she's gonna talk a bunch of crap if she's in it's game on. So, yes, I'm now imagining smacking the shit out of her."
