Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Rosie Bentham has hinted at more sad scenes for Gabby Thomas as the fallout from her recent relationship breakdown continues.

Gabby is currently on a downward spiral after scheming Nicky Miligan dumped her on their wedding day.

Rosie has now shared some gossip on Gabby's future while chatting at an exclusive photoshoot for Inside Soap magazine to celebrate Emmerdale's nominations at this year's Inside Soap Awards.

Caleb Miligan's ruthless plot to destroy Kim Tate, which had a major impact on both Gabby and Nicky, has been nominated for the Best Storyline prize at the ceremony.

Digital Spy was granted exclusive video access to the nominees photoshoot and chatted to each of the cast involved.

Speaking about Gabby's future, Rosie told Digital Spy: "I hope there's happiness for Gabby. I think it's going to be a really tough few months coming up – obviously she got left on her wedding day.

"She's young, she's going through a lot and a lot of changes. She wants to be successful and she'll do anything she can to get there. Fingers crossed."

Emmerdale has revealed that Gabby makes a move on married man Billy Fletcher this week as she tries to kiss him.

Billy rejects Gabby, but promises that he won't tell his wife Dawn about her big mistake.

On Gabby's romantic future, Rosie continued: "I think she needs some time on her own. She needs to get her head straight and not jump at the first guy who comes through the door – and maybe not another nanny!

"I think she needs to just focus on her work, and focus on her family as well. I think she's a businesswoman at heart, so [she should] focus on that."

Lewis Cope, who plays Nicky, recently suggested that his character could become Gabby's "gay best friend" if they ever manage to resolve their differences.

Responding to this, Rosie laughed: "I think that would be such good fun! Me and Lewis work really well together and we loved the scenes with him as the nanny.

"It would take a lot of forgiveness. Gabby's not making his life easy at the minute. I don't know what it would take for that to happen and for them to get back on a good level, even as friends. But we'll see – hopefully!"

Rosie also reflected on Emmerdale's Inside Soap Award nominations, which recognise the biggest and best storylines from the past 12 months.

She said: "We've worked so hard – we've had such a good year, starting off with the 50th[anniversary], the storm and everything that's gone on, like Caleb's takeover.

"We've had so many new characters this year. It's just really highlighted how amazing the show is. So come on, vote Emmerdale!"
