Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer is joining forces with Gorka Márquez once more and promises fans can expect to see a "phenomenal show".

The dancing duo have reunited for another run of their Firedance tour, which boasts a broad range of performances inspired by blockbuster films such as Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge, and West Side Story.

Karen and Gorka first toured with Firedance back in 2019, before returning with a revamped version in 2021, and are now back with a new update to the show.

Chatting exclusively with Digital Spy, Karen teased what fans can expect from her and Gorka heading out on the tour once again.

"We are both so excited!" she told us. "This is a show that is so close to mine and Gorka’s hearts.

"We’ve put a huge amount of passion into this show, and we were thrilled with the audience reaction last year.

"Gorka and I have always got on very well since he joined Strictly and a few years ago we started to dance together a bit more as partners and we realised it worked very well and we loved to partner each other.

"That work extends into our tour, and we have a huge part to play in everything; from casting the other performers to costume and music.

"Each year we’ve done this we’ve worked to make it better than before and it’s the dream show for us to put on – it’s very 'us'."

Detailing what it’s been like working together on the production, Karen revealed she and her co-star are "very similar" in the way they work.

"We work incredibly hard, and we ensure that we are putting on a phenomenal show, but we also don’t take ourselves too seriously and we love to laugh," she said. "So, I think what has been amazing about this tour is putting blood, sweat and tears in to feel incredible joy at the end product but ensuring that we have a lot of fun while doing it."

The Firedance tour begins on February 23, 2023.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
