Fahdi Khaled Not Scared of Superlek Kiatmoo9, Ready for War

Twenty-five-year-old Fahdi Khaled of Tunisia has made a name for himself in the ONE Super Series flyweight division as a tremendous force to be reckoned with. The WMC Intercontinental Muay Thai Champion, also known as “The Gladiator,” has scored a myriad of exciting victories throughout his career, and just recently inside the ONE Championship ring.

Khaled, however, is up to face perhaps the toughest challenge in his professional life when he takes on Thailand’s “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE: A NEW BREED II, an event previously recorded from Bangkok, Thailand, which is set for broadcast this Friday, 11 September.

Speaking ahead of his much-anticipated showdown with one of Thailand’s finest warriors, Khaled expressed his gratitude towards ONE Championship, and how excited he is to face Superlek in what should be another thrilling contest.

“I’m really happy that I’m with ONE Championship. I give my gratitude to ONE, as I’ve been given the chance to prove myself and to represent Tunisians, Arabs, and all Muslims around the world,” Khaled told ONE Championship.

“Superlek is one of the best boxers in Thailand. He’s well-known, and he tells the other boxers how to achieve and reach a specific level.”

Against Superlek, Khaled knows he’s up for one of the biggest tests he’s ever had since he decided to become a fighter at the young age of 14. Superlek is a 2-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion, and is a Muay Femur stylist known for his technical ability, but also for his ferociousness in the ring.

Khaled is aware of his esteemed opponent’s strengths, and has prepared both the mind and body to tackle the challenge at hand.

“He’s got something with his left leg – it’s strong. His punch is really strong, too, so I’m happy to be against him in a match. It’s going to be such a war. This is really a challenge for me, so I have to be stronger, physically and mentally,” said Khaled.

Yet despite the lofty task of upsetting the hometown favorite, Khaled is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve victory, even if that means having to deal with Superlek’s many strengths, and a powerful left leg with a reputation that precedes it.

Khaled assures his fans that he has everything under control, and that there is little cause for concern despite facing a very dangerous opponent.

“I’ve watched a lot of Superlek’s matches. He has a strong body and a strong left leg. I should look out for it because he uses it as a defense. I should also be faster in the match. There’s nothing to be afraid of,” said Khaled.

“Superlek doesn’t scare me. I enter any match without any hesitation.”
