Disney's "what if?" TV movie about children of famous fairy tale villains is set to arrive on July 31st.

Raised in exile as troublemakers but given a chance to redeem their family lineage by a young new King, Carlos, Mal, Evie and Jay are given a chance to make things right -- or steal a magic wand that puts power back in the hands of Maleficent.

Ben, the son of Queen Belle and King Beast, invites them to live in the kingdom of Auradon, but has to convince some of his subjects that it's worth making an effort with the newcomers of dubious descent.

Cameron Boyce of Disney family comedy "Jessie" plays Carlos de Vil, Dove Cameron from the mouse house's "Cloud 9" becomes Maleficent's daughter Mal, Booboo Stewart (Seth Clearwater in three "Twilight" films) gets to be Jaffar's son Jay, and Sofia Carson appeared in two episodes of MTV's "Faking It" before appearing as the Evil Queen's teen girl Evie in "Descendants."

Kenny Ortega of three "High School Musical" movies directs.

"Descendants" is being primed for the Disney Channel at 8pm EDST on July 31. Verified users of the Watch Disney Channel app and WatchDisneyChannel.com will be privy to the TV movie a week earlier, from July 24.

Disney also announced an air date for "Jessie" spin-off "Bunk'd," which will broadcast right after "Descendants."
