Fallen crane smashes into train in Taiwan

STORY: Fire trucks and ambulances could be seen next to the accident site in the western city of Taichung, as parts of the crane boom were still dangling off the side of the elevated metro railway tracks over a busy intersection.

The inside of the train cabin was severely damaged, with pushed-in doors and windows, while passenger seats were scattered across the car’s interior.

Operations resumed early on Thursday (May 11) morning on the affected stretch of tracks between Taichung City Hall Station and Jiuzhangli Station.
