A few days after getting our first glimpse at the Fallout TV series, we've now been given a first proper look in a full teaser trailer.

The Prime Video series is based on the classic video game series, and is set in a post-apocalyptic Los Angeles as citizens live in underground bunkers while shielding themselves from threats including radiation and mutants.

The first trailer released today (December 2) showcases this terrifying world as lead character Lucy (Yellowjackets' Ella Purnell) steps outside Vault 33, before being warned that she will need to "adapt" to this world.

We then see all sorts of gore, violence and mutants, as well as a terrifying shot of a series of nuclear explosions over Los Angeles.

As well as Purnell, Fallout packs an impressive wider cast too including Invincible's Walton Goggins, Twin Peaks' Kyle MacLachlan, The Wheel of Time's Xelia Mendes-Jones, Emancipation's Aaron Moten, Moises Arias, Johnny Pemberton, Aixa Kendrick, Leer Leary, Dave Register and Rodrigo Luzzi.

The series is set to make its debut next year, and is being showrun by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, with Westworld's Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan acting as producers.

The TV adaptation was announced back in 2020, with Joy and Nolan saying at the time: "Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time.

"Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends.

"So we're incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios."

Fallout will premiere on Prime Video on April 12, 2024.
