Fans Praise Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's 'Bromance' as 'Great Example of Positive Masculinity'

Fans can't get enough of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's friendship.
After PEOPLE unveiled its new collectible side-by-side covers featuring the Deadpool & Wolverine costars, a number of Instagram users commented and celebrated Reynolds, 47, and Jackman, 55, for their bond.
"This is the ultimate bromance! I ❤️ them so much 😍," one person commented.
"This is such a great example of positive masculinity," another commenter wrote in response to a video showing moments from the pair's PEOPLE interview. "There is strength in vulnerability and these two are showing that."
"Normalize this type of conversation between men," wrote one person.
Another person said, "Lovely seeing celebrity friendships that are genuine and supportive. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's banter is always entertaining, but it's great to know they have a deep and meaningful connection off-screen."

Reynolds and Jackman's friendship began all the way back in 2008, when the pair first met after Reynolds was hired to portray Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. As the pair told PEOPLE, Jackman — who had already starred in X-Men movies for years — immediately welcomed the younger actor with open arms.
"There's probably fewer friends in our life that you can say anything to, the stuff you're ashamed, embarrassed, anything,” Jackman told Reynolds in PEOPLE's cover story, on newsstands Friday.
“And ever since I've known you, and I would say in particular in like the last five, 10 years, we've had more time where we go for our walks because you're an unbelievable listener," Jackman responded.
"So you can tell me anything and I can tell you anything, and I don't feel like you're going to be judging or necessarily giving me the answer: ‘Do this.’ And I think that has been the key.”
Fourteen years after that initial meeting, Reynolds has turned Deadpool into a major franchise and successfully convinced Jackman to reprise his role as Wolverine for the first time since 2017's Logan for the new movie, directed by Shawn Levy.
Sharing their PEOPLE covers on Instagram May 29, Reynolds wrote in the caption, "Does this make @DeadpoolMovie the sexiest movie alive?" Meanwhile, Jackman joked on his page, "One of these covers is going to sell way more copies."
Deadpool & Wolverine is in theaters July 26.
