REMINDER NEWS ALERT - Hong Kong Tourism Board to Usher in 2016 With Over 160 Smilies and Loves on Victoria Harbour at Hong Kong New Year Countdown Celebrations

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - December 30, 2015) - "Another fresh new year is here. Another year to live…to love and laugh and give", wrote William Arthur Ward, one of the world's most quoted writers of inspirational maxims. This is the inspiration behind the "Love & Joy" theme of this year's New Year Countdown Celebrations.

On New Year's Eve (31 December), the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) will stage a "pyromusical", interweaving pyrotechnics with fireworks, special lighting effects and music, over the iconic Victoria Harbour and its breathtaking surrounding scenery to ring in the New Year. The unique wing-shaped Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) will once again be the focal point. Fireworks and pyrotechnics will be launched from various heights in layers across the harbour, complemented with spectacular pyrotechnics from the rooftops of seven skyscrapers in Admiralty and Wan Chai.

This year, the fireworks will be more than just fleeting sparks lighting up the sky. Each burst in the night sky will represent someone's smile, someone's love or someone's dream. Glittering sunshine and the iridescent colours of the rainbow, creating a symbol of hope, will light up Victoria Harbour. Over 160 smilies and heart shapes will be on display, offering exciting selfie and photo-taking opportunities. Complementing the show will be various greetings in different languages displayed on the LED screen on the façade of the HKCEC, adding to the visual impact and creating a loving and joyful atmosphere for visitors from around the world.
