First on-set images of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in Joker 2 shared
On-set images of Lady Gaga from Joker: Folie à Deux have been released, showing the actress as the iconic Harley Quinn.
The singer is playing the villain in the upcoming sequel, and was photographed filming in New York City complete with the character’s makeup and her trademark outfit.
Wearing a red blazer, the actress boasted black eyeshadow in the shape of a diamond, with her top also showcasing the same pattern.

A photo of the actress opposite lead-star Joaquin Phoenix was released last month, with the caption reading: “Happy Valentine’s Day”; this new image, however, is closer to the recognisable Harley Quinn look.
Margot Robbie previously assumed the role of Harley Quinn in three DC films.
“It makes me so happy,” she said of Gaga’s announcement in the role, via MTV News. “I said from the beginning all I want is for Harley Quinn to be one of those characters that - the way like Macbeth or Batman [do] - always gets passed from great actor to great actor.
“It's such an honour to have built a foundation strong enough that Harley can now be one of those characters that other actors get to have a go at playing, and I think she'll do something incredible with it,” she added.

Joker: Folie à Deux is currently scheduled to be released in October 2024, with Phoenix, Zazie Beetz and director Todd Phillips all due to return. In addition to Gaga, the new cast includes Brendan Gleeson, Catherine Keener and Jacob Lofland.
Beetz, who played neighbour Sophie in the first film, spoke about the prospect of the follow-up being a musical, adding that it made “wonderful sense.”
“I wasn't really surprised by that [news] - Todd has always had a creative approach to the character,” she said. “I love musicals, and I think of them as the characters are feeling and experiencing so much that they can only sing and dance about it, whether in sorrow or in joy.”
Joker: Folie à Deux is scheduled for a cinema release date of October 4, 2024. Joker is available to buy on Blu-ray or streaming now.
