SINGAPORE — Flash floods were reported amid heavy rainfall in Singapore on Tuesday morning (24 August), four days after road users had to be rescued from partially-submerged vehicles.

The Public Utilities Board (PUB) said in a Facebook post that flash floods occurred at Dunearn Road from Sime Darby Centre to Binjai Park at 10.08am. The floods subsided at around 10.50am.

PUB also issued flood risk warnings at four locations, as water levels in drains and canals reached 90 per cent in those areas.

The locations are: Upper Bukit Timah Road from Hazel Park Terrace to Chestnut Drive, Kranji Expressway at Woodlands Road exit, Sime Darby Centre and Sunset Drive/Sunset Way.

Last Monday, the Meteorological Service Singapore warned that more thundery showers are expected for the rest of August due to the prevailing south-west monsoon conditions.
