Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield Portray a Decade of Romance in Moving “We Live in Time” Trailer

'We Live in Time' is in theaters October 11

A24 is bringing Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh together for a long-lasting romance.

On Wednesday, July 10, the indie distributor debuted the trailer for the pair's upcoming romance film We Live in Time, which stars Garfield, 40, and Pugh, 28, as a couple telling their daughter the story of their relationship.

After an initial rendezvous, Almut (Pugh) and Tobias' (Garfield) relationship gets to a fast start, with Tobias admitting quickly that he believes he is falling in love with her. The trailer appears to follow both characters over a number of years, through the couple's pregnancy and raising a daughter together — and Almut appears to grow ill at some point along the way.

Pugh first confirmed that she and Garfield would costar in a movie together during a March 2023 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, just weeks after she and Garfield presented together at the 2023 Oscars earlier that month. In May 2023, the pair were seen spending time together in Rome, just after Pugh wrote on Instagram that she had completed filming for We Live in Time that same week.

"You know what's crazy is that we — they didn't know we were doing a movie together," Pugh told host Jimmy Fallon during that March 2023 appearance. "Well I don't think they did. But this was — I think, a bit of an accident. Which is even weirder!"

Filmmaker Crowley's last film was 2019's The Goldfinch. He is also known for directing the 2015 drama Brooklyn, starring Saoirse Ronan.
