Flotilla event to mark 80th anniversary of D-Day
About 20 decorated boats will pass under a town bridge to mark the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings.
Peterborough Yacht Club's assistant harbour master, Darren Law, said the event would be "spectacular" and urged people to watch from the embankments.
The club has organised several flotillas for events including King Charles' Coronation and Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee.
Boats will sail along the River Nene on Saturday and pass under the Town Bridge between 13:00 and 13:30 BST.
Mr Law said he was looking forward to the event and hoped others would come to watch.
"It draws a crowd and is amazing seeing all the people coming. It is spectacular and it is not every day that you see something like this."
He added that all the boats would be decorated with bunting and flags, making an impressive sight for spectators.
A range of boats will set sail at 08:45 BST at Orton Mere.
They are expected to convene by the Asda footbridge and then pass under the Town Bridge between 13:00 and 13:30.
