Former EastEnders star Jaz Singh Deol shares new venture after Kheerat exit

Former EastEnders star Jaz Singh Deol has set up a new business to help inspire the next generation of actors.

Jaz played Kheerat Panesar in the long-running BBC soap from 2019 until 2022, appearing in over 200 episodes.

His character left the soap dramatically last November, with him serving a life sentence for the murder of Ranveer Gulati, a murder he didn't commit. He confessed to the crime to protect his mother Suki Panesar.

The star has now launched a new platform to help actors break into the industry through coaching and mentoring.

He shared the news yesterday (July 9) on his Instagram and said: "I'm very excited to share with you all @theactorspath."

He explained that the business is "focused on sharing my ever-evolving insights, knowledge and experience of walking this particular journey. Especially as a person of colour in this industry."

Jaz admitted to having coaches himself and said having one was career-changing.

He continued: "I've had and still have coaches who, without a shadow of doubt, helped me thrive and define my career as it is today.

"And I believe now the time has come for me to do the same for others. Sometimes you need an outside eye to help you see the road ahead."

He ended with a little outline of the service, asking any actors interested in one-on-one coaching for an audition or upcoming acting role or general career guidance to book directly from the new programme's Instagram page.

Many aspiring actors commented on the post about taking up his offer, with some also saying that EastEnders was not the same since he left.

Fellow ex-EastEnders and Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One actor Hersha Verity was excited by her friend's new work endeavour and said: "I love this!!!".

One fan added: "Not going to lie, this might get me back into loving acting," while another said: "Love this, thanks. Looking forward to learning more."

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer.
