Former EastEnders star Tony Discipline lands new soap role

Former EastEnders star Tony Discipline has landed a role in fellow BBC soap Doctors.
The actor, who played Tyler Moon on Albert Square between 2011 and 2013, will portray the guest role of David Marsden in Doctors next Tuesday (June 4).
The story of the day will see his character share scenes with Kirsty Millar (played by Kiruna Stamell) – and you can get a first look below.

Tony shared the news himself on X (formerly Twitter), writing: "Catch me on Doctors on @bbcone next Tuesday @ 14:00."
While the actor exited EastEnders 11 years ago, last year he admitted he would be up for returning to Walford in the future.
"I loved my time there. It was a great chapter in my life and if the opportunity ever came up, I would definitely be interested," he told The Sun.
"Tyler's still alive, so it could happen. He left to join his brother Anthony on a cruise. They must have got stuck in the Arctic because it's been a long old cruise!"

Since his departure, Tony has largely stayed out of the limelight, working as a firefighter and co-owning a mobile trailer bar service.
Meanwhile, last year it was confirmed that Doctors had been axed after nearly two and a half decades on air, with the soap's final episode set to air this December.
The BBC said the decision was taken due to financing issues, though the cancellation was criticised by the Writers' Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) and trade union Equity, while a petition was launched by fans to save the series.
Doctors airs on BBC One. EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
