Former Home and Away star Demi Harman confirms pregnancy

Home and Away alumni Demi Harman has announced that she is pregnant.

The actress, who played Sasha Bezmel on the soap between 2011 and 2015, is expecting her first child with her husband Andrew Brooks.

The couple uploaded a photo to their Instagram accounts, showing them posing on a tree on the beach, with Harman cradling her baby bump.

"2 become 3 in 2023," they wrote in the caption, followed by a baby emoji and a dog emoji with a "+1" in brackets.

Several big Home and Away names commented on the post, with Ada Nicodemou writing: "The best news! Congratulations."

Georgie Parker also shared a sweet message for the happy couple, writing: "Oh sweetheart, congratulations to you both."

Harman and Brooks, who works as a producer on big shows like Modern Family, announced their engagement in 2019 before tying the knot last year.

When it was announced that Harmon was leaving the Australian soap almost a decade back, she told TV Week: "I was crying leading up to filming it. It's sad saying goodbye to something after three and a half years when that's all you've done.

"I want to make [it] clear. A lot of people have been saying I wanted to leave the show. But I knew I'd be leaving. My contract was up. The time was right, because things felt right with Sasha, my character. I really cared about her."

Harmon isn't the only former Home and Away actress with some baby news right now, though, as Jasmine Delaney star Sam Frost gave birth yesterday (March 7).

In a post on Instagram, she and her fiancé Jordie Hansen announced their baby's birth and revealed the cute name, Theodore Paul Frost-Hansen.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

In Australia, the show airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7pm on Channel 7 and streams on 7plus.
