Former Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard addresses Hollyoaks acting backlash
Former Strictly Come Dancing professional AJ Pritchard has addressed the backlash over his role in Hollyoaks, admitting that acting isn't his "forte".
The dancer and his brother Curtis appeared for a brief stint in 2021 as twins Marco and Jacob, who were central to a storyline involving the sabotage of dance teacher Trish Minniver (Denise Welch).
One particular scene, known colloquially as "How's Trish?", went viral on social media… but not for good reasons, as many slated the pair's acting.

Speaking to the Daily Star's Hot TV, AJ suggested he has no further plans to act, though said he "enjoyed" the experience on the soap.
“Hollyoaks were so happy with everything," he said. "That’s all that matters. I enjoyed it. But I feel like acting isn’t my forte.”
Speaking further about his upcoming plans, the dancer revealed: "At the moment I want to focus on being fit, healthy and positive. I’m working a bit more on YouTube, which is fun. It goes hand in hand with TV work. And I’m launching some new business later this year.”

Previously responding to the backlash, AJ said: "If someone's got constructive criticism, 100 per cent that's great, but if it's just negativity then it's not something I'm going to waste my energy and time on that."
Last year, Hollyoaks marked a year since the brothers' appearance on the show, making light of the viral moment.
