Will Forte remains proud of his scrapped Coyote vs. Acme movie even though it may never see the light of day.

The actor, 53, shared a message on social media Thursday addressed to the cast and crew of the Looney Tunes film, which "a lot of you haven't gotten a chance to see ... and sadly, it's looking like you never will."

"When I first heard that our movie was getting 'deleted,' I hadn't seen it yet. So I was thinking what everyone else must have been thinking: this thing must be a hunk of junk. But then I saw it. And it's incredible."

Forte made the live-action–animation hybrid film with John Cena and Lana Condor. In November, the studio Warner Bros. revealed it was shelving the completed product altogether, then allowing for it to be shopped around to other distributors, Variety reported.

In his message Thursday, Forte called Coyote vs. Acme "super funny throughout, visually stunning, sweet, sincere and emotionally resonant in a very earned way." He added that he feels "lucky ... to be a part of something so special."

Forte said he felt "confusion and frustration" about the movie not getting a release. The actor admitted he doesn't know all that goes into "Hollywood business stuff" but he stands by the movie's quality.

"The people who paid for this movie can obviously do wahtever they want with it. It doesn't mean I have to like it (I f---ing hate it). Or agree with it. And it doesn't mean that this movie is anything less than magnificent."

"You would be so proud of it — a movie that should be seen, but won't," he wrote to the cast and crew. "Please know that all the years and years of hard work, dedication and love that you put into this movie shows in every frame."

Warner Bros. similarly shelved a nearly-done Batgirl movie and an animated Scoob! sequel in 2022.

Director Dave Green posted a statement about Coyote vs. Acme back in November 2023, saying he was "beyond devastated by WB's decision."

"For three years, I was lucky enough to make a movie about Wile E. Coyote, the most persistent, passionate, and resilient character of all time," Green wrote. "I was surrounded by a brilliant team, who poured their souls into this project for years. We were all determined to honor the legacies of these historic characters and actually get them right."

"Along the ride, we were embraced by test audiences who rewarded us with fantastic scores. I am beyond proud of the final product, and beyond devastated by WB's decision. But in the spirit of Wile E. Coyote, resilience and persistence win the day."
