A Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan onscreen reunion is almost here!

Nisha Ganatra, known for films like 2019's Late Night and the Hulu miniseries Welcome to Chippendales, has been tapped to direct the upcoming Freaky Friday sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. PEOPLE is out to Disney for comment.

The outlet reported that the film is on track to shoot in Los Angeles during the summer. On Friday, Curtis, 65, continued to tease the sequel by sharing a selfie with Lohan on Instagram.

Although a release date has not been announced, Lohan, 37, told PEOPLE earlier this month that the new film is "in the process" and expressed that she was "just excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take it."

"Because we talk almost every other day in general, so I think we're going to have a lot of fun with this," Lohan added.

Back in November 2022, Curtis confirmed to PEOPLE that there was "lots of good talk going on" about a potential sequel.

"There would be nothing I would love more, honestly, than to be able to work with her again, share our time again, and now be able to share it at this age with both of us 20 years older, or whatever we are," she said of Lohan.

When the film celebrated its 20-year anniversary, the two reunited for an interview with The New York Times and touched on their "easy" friendship.

"We met in an office, did the read-through, and it was game on in a big way. I had to let go of every control mechanism and just let it fly," recalled Curtis in the May 2023 interview. "Lindsay was as fluid as I was. If you look at “The Parent Trap,” she has a facility as an actor that is really impressive. It was a big job. It was a big production. And our relationship was very easy."
