FX Orders ‘Snowflakes’ Comedy Pilot From Ben Kronengold, Rebecca Shaw, Karey Dornetto & Nick Kroll

FX has ordered its latest comedy pilot.

The network has ordered Snowflakes from former The Tonight Show writers Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw to be exec produced by Nick Kroll and Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens showrunner Karey Dornetto.

It is the latest pilot for the Disney-owned network alongside Peep Show, the Minnie Driver and Amandla Jahava-fronted remake of the cult British classic, which is still in the works. It comes after English Teacher, a comedy starring and created by Brian Jordan Alvarez, was picked up to series in November after its pilot was ordered in 2022.

FX is coming off the Golden Globes success of its comedy The Bear, which is also a favorite for a number of Emmys on Monday.

Snowflakes is a twenty-something ensemble comedy following a group of codependent housemates trying to be good people, despite being neither “good” nor “people” yet.

Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw were two of the youngest writers on Jimmy Fallon’s NBC late-night series and recently published humor collection Naked in the Rideshare. They will write and exec produce the pilot.

Kroll is well known to FX, having starred in long-running fantasy football comedy The League and also appeared in What We Do In The Shadows. He and Alicia Van Couvering, who runs his Good at Business production banner are exec producing under their first-look deal with FX Productions, which is producing it.

In addition to Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens, Dornetto was an exec producer on Portlandia and worked on series including Arrested Development and Community.

Jonathan Krisel will direct the pilot. He recently directed the FX pilot English Teacher and has worked on series including FX’s Baskets.

Kronengold, Shaw, Kroll, Van Couvering, Dornetto and Krisel exec produce.

Kronengold & Shaw are represented by UTA and Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman. Dornetto is represented by UTA, Artists First and Jackoway Austen. Kroll is represented by UTA, Rise Management and Schrek Rose. Krisel is represented by Mosaic, UTA, and Yorn Levine.
