Game of Thrones star Kit Harington is joining the cast of the BBC and HBO's hit drama Industry.

The critically acclaimed drama follows a group of young people in the cutthroat business world of Canary Wharf as they try to ascend up the ladder of trading company Pierpoint.

Harington is now joining Industry for its third season as CEO Harry Muck of green energy company Lumi. The trading desk at Pierpoint looks to capitalise on the rising success of Lumi, but at what cost?

Series creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay remain at the helm of Industry for its eight-episode third series, which will air on HBO in the US as well as BBC Two in the UK.

Just last month, writer and consulting producer Joseph Charlton promised that the third season of Industry will greatly expand its world — even though it already features a massive cast representing many aspects of the financial industry.

"The world is bigger in a way that I think… audiences will find surprising," Joseph teased.

"The show isn't just repeating itself. It's going into new places, and I think it's seeing the entanglement of finance and sectors in other parts of the world and politics in a way that I think is really novel and interesting."

Explaining how the show has evolved from the start to series three, Joseph said: "We're kind of expanding out, and the frame's getting wider, and you're starting to see the bosses above those people, and then those bosses' bosses, and then how a big investment bank fits into the hierarchy of society more broadly than that."

The series cast includes COBRA's Marisa Abela, Bodies Bodies Bodies' Myha'la Herrold, You & Me's Harry Lawtey, Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Ken Leung and Skins' Freya Mavor, among many others.

Harington comes to the series after playing Dane Whitman, aka Black Knight, in Marvel's The Eternals on the big screen. He also recently appeared in Prime Video's Modern Love. Plus, he's attached to a Game of Thrones spinoff for his character Jon Snow.

Viewers can watch the first two series of Industry on the BBC iPlayer and HBO Max.
