One of the best things about playing HoyoVerse’s Genshin Impact is that playable characters you collect while playing over time aren’t necessarily locked behind certain roles in your team.

In the community, people have continually found ways to play certain characters beyond their intended roles.

I mean, the community did produce a beast of a DPS Barbara. Nothing is impossible.

One build that has really given a character an all-new dimension is Jean’s Sunfire.

With a name like that, you’re right to assume that this build will aid you with decimating your enemies quickly and efficiently.

So, if you’re into seeing a lot of colored damage numbers on your screen, read on!

What exactly is the Jean Sunfire build and how does it work?

The Sunfire build revolves around a unique interaction between the elemental bursts of Jean and Bennett.

Bennett’s burst, Fantastic Voyage, applies a Pyro aura on the the on-field character while Jean's burst, Dandelion Breeze, Swirls the aura off of the on-field character.

The interaction between both bursts causes a consistent string of Pyro Swirls throughout Dandelion Breeze's 10-second duration.

In order to properly trigger the Sunfire interaction, you must use Bennett's burst and then Jean's burst. Here's a demonstration:

The Pyro Swirls from the Sunfire interactions can then be used to cause more elemental reactions, usually Hydro and Electro to cause Vaporize and Overload reactions.

In addition, the Sunfire interaction also shreds through elemental shields, making it a great option when facing Abyss Mages or Abyss Lectors and Heralds in the Spiral Abyss.

How to build Jean for Sunfire

With the Sunfire build's dependence on elemental reactions, building as much Elemental Mastery as possible on your Jean is a must.

Starting with her weapon, the Iron Sting is the go-to choice for its Elemental Mastery substat, and the fact that it is craftable.

The premium choice will be the 5-star sword Freedom-Sworn, which also has Elemental Mastery as its substat as well as a passive that will buff your team's damage.

You'll need the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer artifact set, with Elemental Mastery as the main stat on at least the goblet and circlet pieces.

Your sands will be reserved for Energy Recharge so that you can use Jean's burst whenever it's available.

With that said, you can still go with an Elemental Mastery sands if you're using weapons like the Favonius Sword or Amenoma Kageuchi to supplement your energy needs, or if you're partnering your Sunfire team with the Raiden Shogun.

Who do you put on a Sunfire team?

With the Sunfire interaction providing consistent Pyro Swirls, the team core of Jean and Bennett is often paired with Electro and Hydro off-field DPS characters to enable the Vaporize and Overload reactions.

The best Sunfire lineup is comprised of the Jean-Bennett core combined with Xingqiu and the Raiden Shogun, two of the best off-field DPS characters in the game.

The Raiden Shogun, in particular, is an excellent character to use on a Sunfire team.

Not only can she act as the team's on-field DPS and deal a ton of damage with her burst, but she can also solve any energy problems you may have and allow Jean to go all-in on building Elemental Mastery.

Aside from Xingqiu and the Raiden Shogun, you can also run your Sunfire team with the likes of Fischl, Xiangling, Kamisato Ayato, Mona, or Kokomi.
