German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced that his country, along with its allies, will deliver 100 additional missiles for Ukraine's Patriot air defense systems.

During a joint press briefing with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on June 11, Pistorius noted that he visited Odesa a few weeks ago and witnessed the devastating effects of Russian air strikes.

Pistorius reiterated the critical importance of air defense for Ukraine's survival.

“Today, I am pleased to announce the delivery of a significant number of interceptors for Patriot systems — a total of 100,” the minister said.

According to Pistorius, the missiles will be provided as part of Germany's initiative to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses, with contributions from Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway.

"Thirty-two of these interceptors have already been delivered over the past two days, and the remaining 68 will be provided in the coming weeks," he specified.

Previously, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz stated that Germany would soon deliver a third Patriot battery to Ukraine, along with IRIS-T systems and Gepard anti-aircraft artillery.
