Germany has provided Ukraine with a quarter of its Patriot air defense systems, with a third unit to be delivered soon, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced on June 13.

“We cannot give any more," Pistorius said

"Others may be able to contribute one each."

He emphasized Germany’s initiative to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. Germany is also providing training on the Patriot systems and delivering long-range missiles for them.

Germany recently supplied Ukraine with 32 such missiles, with an additional 68 to be delivered soon, acquired through joint efforts with Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands.

Today’s meeting will address immediate assistance and medium- and long-term support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression, Pistorius said.

Ukraine is unlikely to receive an invitation to join NATO at the summit in July, he said.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz previously said that Germany would soon deliver IRIS-T systems and Gepard anti-aircraft artillery along with the third Patriot air defense system.

The weapons will be included in the new 500-mln military aid package ($537,6 million), the German Foreign Ministry said.

Pistrous announced on July 11 that Germany, along with its allies, will deliver 100 additional missiles for Ukraine's Patriot air defense systems.

Germany handed over the second Patriot air defense system to Ukraine in April.
