Singaporeans are known for their love of food, and what better way to celebrate National Day next month than by eating local food?

In this vein, McDonald’s Singapore is launching a new locally-inspired menu, incorporating local flavours like as nasi lemak, chendol and Bandung. The new menu is available from tomorrow (13 July) for a limited time only at all McDonald’s outlets.

Foodies can look forward to options such as the “Nasi Lemak” Burger ($5.95), consisting of a coconut-flavoured chicken thigh patty coated with cornflakes and layered with a fried egg, onions, cucumber slices and sweet-and-spicy sambal sauce.

Besides the “Nasi Lemak” Burger, other locally-inspired items such as the Bandung McFizz ($3), Chendol McFlurry topped with Gula Melaka sauce (from $3), Coconut Pie ($1.20), Chendol Melaka Cone ($1), Chendol Melaka Twist ($1) and Chendol Melaka Choco Cone ($1.20) are also available.

The Pandan Coco Frappe (from $4.60) and Kueh Salat Cake (from $5) will also be available at McCafé outlets in Singapore.

If the “Nasi Lemak” Burger isn’t enough to satisfy your cravings, you also have the option of drinking Nasi Lemak tea – along with other local flavours like Chicken Rice tea, Pandan Chiffon – from Ette Tea.

If you’re willing to travel a little bit further, you can also get your hands on Nasi Lemak ice cream, complete with ikan bilis and sambal, at Skream Softserve in Caffé Diem in Alor Setar, Malaysia.
