Giovanni Pernice has officially left the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing after weeks of speculation.

Following the fallout of his feud with former dance partner Amanda Abbington, the ex Strictly star said he was "looking forward to clearing his name". Abbington quit Strictly early in 2023 reportedly over the dancer's "militant" training style as the pair clashed behind the scenes of the dance show. Pernice's other dance partners have previously spoken out about their experiences.

Pernice first burst onto our screens in 2015 as a professional dancer and has an impressive track record during his nine years on Strictly. As well as his TV work, Pernice has launched his own perfume range and he has been touring his new solo show Let Me Entertain You.

BBC confirmed the line-up for Strictly's 2024 professional dancers including: Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.

There was no mention of Pernice. Yahoo has reached out to BBC for further comment.

Many Strictly pros have gone onto be successful outside of the show. Former pro Oti Mabuse joined the rival judging panel on ITV's Dancing on Ice while James and Ola Jordan have remained in the public eye despite leaving the show. Former pro Janette Manrara moved on to host the official spin-off show Strictly: It Takes Two.

So what new TV projects could be in the pipeline for the ambitious dancer?

Pernice could waltz his way onto reality TV with ease. Fellow Strictly Come Dancing professional Nikita Kuzmin came second in Celebrity Big Brother earlier this year, proving how popular the BBC show's dancers are.

Plus, the pro dancer said it was one of the best decisions of his life. Kuzmin wrote on social media: "What a ride baby! The biggest emotional roller coaster of my life. Wow! So happy to have taken this decision, one of the coolest things I’ve ever done and now I can say I lived in the big brother house! WOOOWWW!"

Reality show I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here isn't until the autumn but TV bosses are reportedly keen to sign Pernice up to the jungle show.

A source told The Sun: "ITV bosses have wanted him for years and now he is finally free... Everyone is eager to get him on board - he really would be ideal for those jungle showers."

It was added: "They are expected to offer him big money and he's unlikely to turn it down really."

And what about a career cha-cha-cha change with Hollywood?

Pernice has played a fun role of the master of dance in upcoming film Man & Witch: The Dance of a Thousand Steps. Also starring in the film is acting legend Christopher Lloyd, known for his role as Doc Brown in the Back to the Future franchise.

Pernice filmed scenes for the movie in 2021 in Scotland and Los Angeles. The 2024 film is a comic adventure that pays homage to lo-fi fantasy films of the eighties. It will hit our screens in the UK on 2 June and later in August in the US.

We are sure Pernice is keen to go on holiday with Anton Du Beke for TV once again. In recent weeks, Pernice asked his Instagram fan base whether they would like to see a second season of Adventures In Spain.

The dancer teamed up with the Strictly Come Dancing judge for the light-hearted travel show which saw them take Spain by storm from the festivals to flamenco dancing. He wrote on Instagram: "Question time … very simple answer YES OR NOT ! Would you like to see me and my bestie going somewhere else?"

It's no surprise Pernice is keen to work on a second season of the BBC show as the friends teased the future of the show in the final. Du Beke said: "What a lovely, lovely way to spend a summer. Where to next?"

Pernice replied: "Well, it doesn't matter where we're going, as long as we're together."

The friends already have plans to reunite for their live show Anton & Giovanni - Together which they will take all around the UK. However, it has been reported the show has been shelved for now.
