Glenn Close Shows 'Beautiful' Bruised Face on Eve of 77th Birthday After Suffering a ‘Tiny Break in My Nose’

Glenn Close mugged for the camera with some good-humored goofy faces — even though she’s recovering from a medical procedure that left her face bruised.

“I think this is going to be a particularly GOOD day,” the actress wrote on Instagram Monday — the day before her 77th birthday — about a series of silly selfies, adding, “(Ignore the bruises. I had a tiny break in my nose fixed) Feeling as beautiful as ever.”

The Back in Action actress responded to a commenter who cheekily replied, “Ok, that LAST pic reminds me of Stan & Laurel (not sure which one was which) 🤪”

“Stan Laurel! I loved them when I was little. Still do. They were genius,” Close wrote about the famed comic duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Some celebrity fans of the Fatal Attraction star also commented, with her costar in the upcoming film The Summer Book, Lily Collins writing, “Omg love you,” and Rumer Willis, a longtime friend, adding, “You are a treasure.”

And Rosie O’Donnell also chimed in, writing, “ur amazing ‘what’s the alternative?’ - just beautiful ❤️"

Although the actress didn’t disclose what happened to her nose, she shared an Instagram video three weeks ago where her nose didn’t appear to be injured.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “If the break has displaced the bones and cartilage in your nose, your health care provider may be able to manually realign them. This needs to be done within 14 days from when the fracture occurred, preferably sooner.”

Although her Instagram account generally features scenic shots of the snow and occasional political posts, the actress is a fan of showcasing her sillier side, recently posting a video where she made goofy faces alongside the caption, “It's morning in a new place away from home. I'm wishing I didn't have to wash and brush my hair. #bedhead.”

“You were on my flight yesterday from BZM -ATL. I was so starstruck,” a fan wrote to Close. “ I would of said hello but you looked deep in conversation with the gentleman next to you…. So thought I would say hello here! Hi!”

Close replied, “Hi. Next time please say hello. Thank you for your message.”
