Tonight's (December 1) instalment of Gogglebox saw the cast make an unexpected comparison for the new Squid Game-inspired reality series.

During an episode of Squid Game: The Challenge, Pete and Sophie Sandiford were quick to point out the show's unusual theme tune. "Sounds like a sexy donkey that, doesn't it?" said Pete, before the brother and sister duo hilariously impersonated the animal.

The armchair critics watched as the remaining contestants took on the infamous cookie challenge – as featured on the hit Netflix drama.

Competitors were tasked with cutting a cookie into a particular shape using a needle, all while not breaking the dough. "Can you see how fiddly that is?" said Simon Minty on the tense challenge.

Reacting to the difficulty of the show, Sophie confessed that her brother wouldn't be able to take part. "You'd have turned yourself inside out," she said, before Pete added: "I would, because I care and that's my problem."

"About the money," quipped Sophie, to which Pete replied: "About my teammates."

Elsewhere, as the cast reacted to Channel 4's new erotic thriller The Couple Next Door, Tom Malone sarcastically commented on the appeal of putting the bins out. "There's nowt more sexy than standing on the street putting your bins out, is there?" he said.

"That animal magnetism that only occurs on bin day," added Baasit Siddiqui, as the show featured neighbours getting close whilst taking out their rubbish.

The episode also saw the professional TV watchers react to the latest episode of Survivor, Toy Hospital and Vinnie Jones's countryside antics on Vinnie Jones In The Country.

Gogglebox airs and streams on Friday nights at 9pm on Channel 4.
