Former Gogglebox star Stephen Lustig-Webb has shared an exciting update ahead of his Dancing on Ice appearance.

The reality star, who departed from the Channel 4 show earlier this year, was announced as a contestant for the 16th series of Dancing on Ice, which is set to premiere in January 2024.

Though fans will have to wait to see Stephen set foot on the ice, the star did tease details about his upcoming stint, revealing that he was about to begin training.

“[I've got] absolutely no rhythm and no balance,” he told OK! Magazine at the Pride of Britain Awards. “I start training tomorrow. I'm already two Espresso Martinis in – I'm stopping now [as] two was enough!”

Stephen’s participation in the show was confirmed via an appearance on Lorraine, in which he said: “The last time I was on the ice I think I was 14 [years old], so almost 40 years ago. I have been back on the ice since just for a quick spin-around.

“I didn't fall over, so that was a good thing! I’ve got a new appreciation for skating – I can see how truly difficult it is. From the comfort of my sofa, I was probably a little too judgmental. I didn’t realise how hard it is!”

They will all hope to impress the judging panel of Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, while the show will now be hosted by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern following Phillip Schofield’s resignation from ITV earlier this year.

Dancing on Ice series will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX in January 2024.
