Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's beloved Labrador steals the show in Budweiser Super Bowl ad
The Labrador did his best Balto impression in the ad, helping secure a delivery of much needed supplies to a snowed in town.
There's been a lot of talk of "nepo babies" recently, but surely no one is opposed to the idea of "nepo dogs?" Keeping with their yearly tradition, Budweiser paid for a detailed commercial during Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday. The ad prominently featured a cute Labrador, who happens to come from a famous acting dynasty.
That's right: The adorable golden dog is Roy Hawn Russell, the dog of iconic actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
"Don’t get me wrong I love watching football but tonight was all about watching our dog Roy Hawn Russell star in his first superbowl commercial for @budweiserusa!!!" Hawn wrote on Instagram.
Hawn's daughter Kate Hudson added, "There’s a lot of thespians in this family, but tonight there was only one star."
The plot of the commercial resembles the classic animated film Balto, where winter weather prevents a town from accessing needed supplies. Except instead of medicine, what these people need is beer – a lot of beer.
The thirsty revelers' only hope falls on the Budweiser Clydesdales to transport some Bud to the snowed in town — but they're only able to reach their destination with help from a enthusiastic Labrador who leads them the rest of the way.
If Roy Hawn Russell keeps getting gigs like this, maybe we'll eventually find out if he has an alien story to match Hawn and Wyatt Russell.
