What Did You Miss?

Good Morning Britain was co-hosted by Ranvir Singh and Ben Shephard today (21 December), but ITV viewers quickly expressed their frustrations when the former appeared to keep interrupting guest Clare Balding on the sofa.

BBC Sport presenter Balding was in the studio to discuss her latest book Isle of Dogs: A Canine Adventure Through Britain, but viewers complained that Singh seemed to butt in with a new question despite her not being able to fully answer the original one.

What, how and why?

On Wednesday's edition of Lorraine, Singh revealed to audiences that she'd be filling in for Kate Garraway on the following day's Good Morning Britain, who was busy visiting her severely ill husband Derek Draper in hospital.

"I'm getting up a bit earlier tomorrow because I'll be bringing you Good Morning Britain," she said to the camera. "Louise Minchin will be in the hotseat here. She'll be joined on the sofa here by Meera Syal."

Cut to today, having asked Balding a number of questions about her stance on the XL Bully dog discourse, as well as how her search for a new dog breed to bring home was going, Singh seemed to interrupt her guest before she'd had chance to fully explain herself.

"Someone needs to tell Ranvir to let guests speak fgs!!! #gmb #goodmorningbritain," raged one viewer on X after witnessing this unfold.

This was then echoed by: "6 times Ranvir has interrupted Clair Balding & Ben in less than 5 mins! Someone tell her! #GMB."

What else happened on Good Morning Britain?

Earlier in the episode, Singh and Shephard welcomed blogger Carla Belluci onto the programme, where she tried to justify charging her Christmas Day guests £150 each for their meal and a glass of champagne.

"I always do the Christmas dinner and thought this year: 'No, something's got to change!' Times are hard, I'm a working person, I've got to make cutbacks!" she said.

"Some have said no and some, like good friends, have said: 'Yeah, it's fine!' No one has been frosty, they know what I'm like!"

Belluci will rake in around £400 profit on the big day.
