Goodbye for now: McDonald's Nasi Lemak Burger sold out in Singapore
It’s only been two weeks since McDonald’s locally-inspired offerings hit our shores, but the overwhelming popularity of the items has led to them being sold out very quickly.
In a statement on Tuesday (25 July), McDonald’s said the Nasi Lemak Burger, Chendol McFlurry and Bandung McFizz were now sold out islandwide, and thanked Singaporeans for the support.
“Inspired by the iconic Malay dish, the Nasi Lemak Burger attracted customers not only in Singapore but also across the border, and even made its way to the number one spot on Twitter’s trending topics list during the week of its launch,” McDonald’s said in the statement.
When the Nasi Lemak Burger was first launched, Yahoo Lifestyle Singapore found many customers at local McDonald’s outlets queuing for the special-menu item.

Agatha Yap, Senior Director of Marketing, Menu and Digital Innovation at McDonald’s Singapore, said the success of the items “far exceeded our wildest imagination”.
“We are both heartened and honoured to receive so many positive reviews from customers and food critics who have truly enjoyed our latest creations,” Yap said. “And we will certainly consider suggestions to bring it back sometime in the future.”
The Nasi Lemak Burger, Chendol McFlurry and Bandung McFizz were part of McDonald’s promotion for Singapore’s National Day, which falls on 9 Aug.
McDonald’s next special menu items will be the classic McSpicy with an egg, a Dinosaur McFlurry (with Milo powder), and a vanilla cone with a “special camo sleeve”. The items will be available from Wednesday (26 July).
