Commuters in locations such as Woodlands, Jurong West and the Central Business District can now utilise a shuttle service launched by ride-hailing app Grab on Thursday (2 March).

The new GrabShuttle app allows commuters to book a guaranteed seat on 13-, 23- or 40-seater vans or buses. The service currently covers 15 fixed routes, with more to be added in the coming months. Commuters can also suggest and crowd-start new routes in the GrabShuttle app or via Grab’s website.

GrabShuttle operates from Monday to Friday and does not operate on public holidays. Fares currently range between $3.50 and $5. Commuters can book as late as five minutes before the start of a route.

The new app is the result of a collaboration with the Government Technology Agency of Singapore (GovTech), and is powered by Beeline, an open smart mobility platform.

Last month, Grab launched a coach booking service. In December, it also launched GrabShare, a carpooling service to rival uberPool.
