Grammy Nominations: Taylor Swift, SZA and ‘Barbie’ Dominate
The 2024 Grammy nominations were unveiled Friday, singling out the best in music released between Oct. 1, 2022 and Sept. 15, 2023. Unsurprisingly, Taylor Swift was a force to be reckoned with, scoring nominations in the top categories for her album “Midnights” and ubiquitous song “Anti-Hero.”
SZA, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Jon Batiste and Boygenius also picked up Album of the Year and Record of the Year nominations, while the “Barbie” soundtrack appeared in a number of top categories including Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For” and Song of the Year for Dua Lipa’s “Dance the Night.”
In terms of total numbers, SZA topped all with nine nominations, followed by Phoebe Bridgers, Serban Ghenea and Victoria Monét with seven each. Jack Antonoff, Boygenius, Miley Cyrus, Brandy Clark, Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish each picked up six nominations in total.
The 2024 Grammy Awards will be held on Feb. 4, 2024 in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS and stream live on Paramount+.
